She was suppose to graduate Feb. 2008. Well, I guess things happen, and her graduation date was moved to Sept. 20, 2008. This date is getting closer now. I know she has been having trouble at the school with a teacher. She is suppose to finish her books in order before she moves on to another one. But according to her, they won't help her to test out. She has to have a teacher sign out on her book. This way no one can say that she forged anything (there was a major problem with this with other students forging signatures). Well, she is still in book 3, only has one more test for that book. It's finger waves.. something simple, but according to daughter, the teacher won't take the time to watch her do it. I have a call into the school today, but they have not returned it.
I know my daughter is not perfect. I know that she misses on the average one day a week. She was in a roll over acciden back in Oct. 2006, and now has back pains. Well, I found out today that she missed yesterday and today!! I asked her if there is anything else I should know before I talk to the owner. She said no.. just that she was not there yesterday or today.
I really thought that she was at school. I am heart broken, upset, disgusted and other things right now.
Her boyfriend lives with us as well. Back when they lived together, he promised me that she would go every day. He knew how important it was to her/me/us.
I don't know if I can still hold him to this promise anymore.
I want to scream at them. But I know I wont. I've talked to them about how important it is that she attend daily. If she doesn't, she could lose the VA benefits, and then have to repay them because she didnt complete the agreement with them.
I feel like crying. I want to yell at them. But what good will it do? I'm so upset, that I can't even crochet right now. I don't want to put any bad energy into what I'm making (btw, it's a sweater for daughter).
I'm at my wits end right now.

It's really been nice since the kids have moved out. Hubby's blood pressure is starting to come down. Very good sign!!!
Since the kids moved out and down to Texas now, they don't call us. I've called them several times and left messages for them. I've called at different times during the day, and a few times in the evening. Guess they are upset at us. Not sure why. Son's cell phone is disconnected, only because he has not paid the bill. He can get the money and take it to any US Cellular and pay it there. Then it will get turned back on. tsk tsk

I am almost finished with making my cousin another "Name in Filet". Just have to do the other end of it. Then my cousin has tea towels that she wants done up. Told her.. No problem.. you just supply the towels and yarns, and I won't charge you for them.
Been trying to keep myself healthy. This cough is bad. Had a terrible coughing fit last night during a program on PBS. Celtic Thunder. They were really good, then after that, came the "Blue Man Group". They are funny. They will be here in Tulsa on april 5 at the Maybe Center. Hubby would like to go and see them. I finally got them all put together. The grandsons just love them!!
*note on the youngest one Dalton. When I requested the squares, we did not have him in our custody. He was living with his Aunt in another state.

Their mom was really being a pain. She went to the court house and had the charges dropped down to a misdemeanor. So he got out of jail and she was taking him home, but then decided that she wanted to be with him. Had lots of names for her at this point. Don't know what changed her mind again about him, could be the fact that he already hurt her by grabbing her wrists, or locking himself in her truck and not letting her go anywhere.
But she finally realized what she had with our son (my stepson), and now, they have moved to Texas. They left last night. I will sure miss the grandsons.
Yes, there is a little more that I have not posted here about what went on, but I figure it's best for all concerned to not post it. I'm giving her, yet another chance, to start over and not mess it yet again. I pray that the move was the best thing for them all.

I have been working on my daughter's blanket for several months now. I finally finished it as well. It's very big. King Size Big.. lol. Had to have our son and daughter's boyfriend to hold it up. They are both near 6', and there is still some of it on the floor. 3x5 squares. One row is right side up, and the next row is upside down. This way, you don't have to worry about which end is up.. Of course, I only worked on it in the evenings. I am very proud of myself. I've never done anything like that before. The Throw is worked up in strip's, then attached as you finished them.
I did have to order extra yarn for it. It is a kit from MaryMaxim. I was told that the creater of the Throw "only used 7 skeins of the blue". I did use the right size hook and the gauge was right one. So I don't know how I managed to use up 10 skeins of blue. Had enough of the red, the white, that was just enough. Maybe 2yds of that left over.. lol.
I've donated the Throw to the local DAV (Disabled American Veterans) for a raffle to help them raise some money.
Enjoy the pic's!!

Blah Monday

Here it is Monday morning and I feel blah. Yesterday, all I did was sleep. I've got a cold and it's moving down into my chest, so I've been on nyquil to help me sleep. I really think I got caught up yesterday.. lol
Not only feeling blah, I haven't been in the mood to crochet *Yikes*, not good, I need to get this blanket done for Heather. Am on row 98 out of 124. Then I get to start on another one, just like that one for Rachel (both our daughters), in the same color. YIPPIE!!!
I will be the first to admit that I am not the best house keeper. But at times, I do feel like cleaning EVERYTHING. This is NOT one of those times.. lol
I did get to chat with my bestest friend in Australia this morning. That really lifted up my spirits. We've been missing each other on yahoo for the past month or so. She told me that she still reads my blog. =)
That made me want to post here today. I do have counter on here, but no one replies to the posts, so I don't know what is going on.. lol, maybe I don't wanna know what they are thinking. I've thought about closing this blogger. I just don't crochet fast enough to post items, I don't read that many books. My life is a bore right now. Don't get me wrong. I love my life and family. Just that I am stuck in a rut with my crocheting. Funny how it affects everything else around me.
I've also been wanting to try and a penpal in Scotland or Ireland. Not sure why, just that they sound lovely. Then I thought, I have a best friend in Australia, and we only yahoo chat, so why not just send her a snail mail post? Maybe even a box with some yarn and thread. So I just might do that. I won't post on here what I got her until she recieves the box.. lol :P~~~~~
Love you Alison.. thanks for being there for me!

Woolie Swap

I got a package today!!!!!!!!!
It's from my swap partner AndiM. The ones they just sent were for 2006. They told her that it was none of her business if they do or don't file taxes. Which in someway they are correct. But they could have told her this 2 months ago so we wouldn't have to go thru all this.
What I want to know... is if they did file for taxes this year already.. how did the mom sign the paperwork when she is in California? I'm so upset and pissed off that I cryed for an hour last night.
About the first of Novermber, a good friend of our daughter's moved in with us. She is 20, and our daughter is 21. She has been a godsend to us. She has helped our daughter thru a breakup with a terrible boyfriend. Been her back bone when he calls and asks for her to come back to him (he's a jerk.. no one likes him, but love/lust is blind). Heather practically bends over backwards to help us. Such a sweet girl to have around. No problems with her at all.
Come christmas time, I was expecting her to get some packages in the mail from her mom and step dad (yes, we bought plenty for her and so did my parents). Well, christmas came and went and I asked her if she had called her mom to find out if they sent her anything and she told me that they never get her anything for christmas or her birthday. They always buy for her older brother and sister. I was taken back. How could any parent not give their youngest daughter anything for christmas?? I also found out that her mom politely reminds her that she was a mistake and that she never really wanted her! UG.. how could a mother say that?
I just want to slap her silly.
Heather wants to go to Costomology School here in Tulsa. She's enrolled and everything and told her parents that she will need a copy of their 2005 taxes. They've known about this for almost 2 months now and they keep puttin her off.
Her mom is now in California with the oldest daughter who is pregnant with her 2nd child and is due in about 9 weeks.
The step dad is still here but on the other side of the state. I keep calling him daily to remind that he has to go and get a copy of their taxes and then fax them to the school. He tells me that he has been sending them daily, but the school never gets anything from him. I want to believe him, but at the same time, ......
I called him on Saturday evening and "threaten" him that if he didnt call me, I was going to send the girls down there and get the paper work. He never did return my call. So the girls drove down there this past weekend to get the paperwork themselves and caught him!!
Let me back up a little here. Friday morning he called and said that he would be in town on Saturday and when he got close, he would call and we would meet up somewhere. Ok.. we waited for that call. Never came. Not surprized one bit. Now he calls Saturday evening and says it will be Sunday. Ok.. we waited yet again for him to show up. He never calls us. So that is when the girls go down there and surprize him. He NEVER LEFT HIS TRAILOR!!!!! What an A$$HOLE.
He told the girls that he is tired of me calling him daily, and that I am a B*tch! Well.. he wants to see/hear a B*tch... I can be one. I even called his wife in California and told her what was going on. She only came up with excuses for him.
All this for a copy of their taxes so their daughter can better herself.
I am at my witts end with this. I so want to call them both everyday and "remind" them that they need to get this done. Once this is done.. I want to cuss them out about how they are a bad parent. But I know I won't. I"ll just let it eat at me until it's over and done with.
Meantime, the school is calling him and me. Keeping me updated on what he tells them. Not sure how much longer the school will let her continue going there without paying. We can't afford to pay it either.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Blessed Be

Thank You Mary Jo (Tampa Doll)

Mary Jo (Tampa Doll) from Crochetville.org has the biggest heart around.
She made a dragon and then posted it on the 'Ville. Just my luck that I saw that post and read it. He is the cutest little dragon I've seen around. She named him "Tiny Tim" (am hoping that the name does NOT remind most of the comic singer Tiny Tim that use to be on "Rowan and Martin's Laugh In"...LOL).
I did reply to her post that he is the cutest thing around.
Lucky me.. I got him!!!!!!!!!!
Mary Jo sent him to ME! How very nice of her. And of course, there was a very nice letter to go along with him. It truely brought tears of joy to me. My daughter asked me why I was crying and I showed her my new dragon. All she could say was.. "aaawwwwww", then grabbed him and asked me where mine was.. lol.
I calmly told her that I would have to find that pattern and order it and then make her one, but she is NOT getting that one! Teenagers.. ggeeeze.. lol
Mary Jo.. thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love my new dragon. He told me his name... His new name is ... "Seth". We went to Langley to Celebrate my Aunt & Uncle's 50th Wedding Anniversary. They looked so happy together. I hope that we make it that far in life as well =) I'm 45 and have been married for 26yrs now. I think we are going to make it.
I made my Aunt & Uncle a Heart Shaped Filet with their names and wedding date in it. They loved it! They weren't going to open their gifts there, but I asked if they could. I wanted to see their reaction to the Heart Filet. Of course, our name was not on the package, because I had taped the card to the gift, but their grandkids put/took the cards in a basket and the gifts on the table. A few people were a little upset when they found out about that. But my Aunt & Uncle knew right away who the Heart Filet was from =)

I've been busy working/making a "Hot Pink Sweater" for my step sister. I had some left over Fun Fur Disco Trim from the sweaters that I made last year for my neices (her daughters), so I thought I would use them to trim up her sweater. I think it turned out very nice. =)

C'ville Temp Down

As you may have noticed, Cville is down and when you try to access it youwill get a message stating:

This Account Has Been Suspended
Please contact the billing/support department as soon as possible.

C'Ville has exceeded their bandwidth and maximum user capacity under thecurrent plan. That was ok until last night (Saturday night). A lightening storm came in and surged the power. Everything came back on except for the A/C.

YIKES!!!

Wonderful hubby tried his best, thought he fixed it, but ended up only running the fan all night. When I got up, it was only 80 in the house. I am use to it being a nice 75 in here.

Now, you think that 5* is not much.. but it is. Enough for you to start missing your A/C. And you know, no one is opened on sunday here. But we were able to call a friend who knows someone that works on A/C's. He is a very nice older man (he says he is 83 (and he is very good looking 83yo man!)). He came out and checked out unit. Says it is in the inside unit, because he can bypass it outside. So maybe it's the Motherboard for the unit. All I can see is $$$$$$$ ching, ching, ching. He told us to not to worry, it wont be that much.

Phew, that is a relief. But until then... we have several fans set up and I am sweating and getting over heated now. Drinking plenty of water and pissing it out.. lol

Dawg Days of Summer

WOW..Sure have been hot here. For the last 5 days, we've been in the triple digits. phew. Can't even go swimming in our soft sided pool because the water is too hot as well.. lol. Am really looking forward to the first of Autumn. Won't be too hot or cold then.
I've gotten the yarn for my step-sister's sweater that she wanted/asked/begged for last x-mas..lol. It is a bright pink. You almost need sunglasses to look at it.. LOL. Am thinking about using a dark fun fur for the trim.. just to make it stand out a little more.
I was asking my other sister if her daughter was still into the "black" scene.. she said "yes". Was hoping that she would want one in a varigated color. Saw some very nice varigated colors at Wal-Mart this morning. It's hard for me to see the stitches in black, even with my glasses on.
I got the new Lisette pattern in and I am dying to work one up for me.. lol. I have some chenille yarn here, but am not sure if it will be enough for it.
My tongue is finally back to "normal" (if one can say that.. lol). We are still working on my legs. They are looking very good and almost like my legs again.. lol. Just a few more weeks of the legs wrap and then we move onto the sleeves for the rest of my life. =)
I've only been crocheting up some doilies here. I work very slow. It usually takes me about 2 days to work on a 9" doily. But that is only working on them in the evenings. I spend my days running around with hubby.. lol.
Gotta Luv Him <3

Tongue Surgery

Well, yesterday (Friday) was the big day for me. Had that mole with the growth removed. I had bitten off the growth 2 weeks earlier and saved it for the dr., but he said that they will get the real thing here in a bit. That was cute at the time.

Had to do a breathing treatment, then had to spray nasal stuff up my nose every 15 min's to open me up. Then I got another treatment to numb my throat. Then came the good meds. I was numbed up in about 1 min' and everything was starting to fade to black. I remember watching some "All My Children" and then thinking ... "WOW.. it's a good thing that I used the potty before they gave me this chit.. lol", and I was out for the count. After that, I remember opening my eyes and seeing that it was about 2:15, then my eyes slammed closed again.

Woke up again, it was now 2:45 and the nurse is patting my hand. "Wake up hun, would you like some ice or some medicine for the pain?" What pain I am asking myself at this point. Then I swallowed!!! PAIN.. "Umm.. some pain medicine please, and some ice chips as well".. no problem. I got both, a nice cup of ice chips and a shot of morphine... YEAH. So about 3:15, they wheeled me back to my room where my wonderful husband is sitting and waiting for me to get back to him. Bless his heart. He is Diabetic and had to eat at noon, and he almost missed watching me getting high and sleeping.. lol.

We got home about 4p.m. Of course, I had to prove to them that I could use the potty and eat something before I could leave. Did both very good thank you.. lol They gave me a sprite, and that was harsh on my throat, so some nice strawberry jello and ice chips was enough for them.

Today (Saturday) will be another good test. Today is our group's Litha. It will be about 7:30pm and I hope I can talk long enough to read the ritual to them. I couldn't sleep in bed. I think our bed was too flat for me, so I slept out in my rocker with my "Ms Geronimo". I"ve also been getting my legs wrapped everyday this past week. Monday and tuesday, they only did one leg. My left one, then they started to wrap both of them on Wednesday. I look funny, but they measured both legs yesterday and both have shrunk a lot. Next week will start some "skin movement/massage" and continue with the wraps. Harry has to do them at home now. He is getting so good at it now =) I love him sooooo much.

Beautiful Day

Here it is June 2, 2006 already. Time sure is flying by. I'm not doing much.. just ask my husband.. lol.
My knee's are still hurting me, but at least I am not using a cane now. I just move slow at first.
My legs will be getting wrapped up come the week of June 19th. They will have to be wrapped everyday for 2 months, then I get to wear the stockings for the rest of my life. JOY JOY
My tongue.. well.. I will have to have surgery.. They will be giving me a local, then cutting off my mole (that is now growing), running that to the lab to make sure that they got it all, if not, they will take more off of my tongue So that friday.. husband will have peace and quiet.. lol. They are not saying if it is cancer or not. Waiting until they can biopsy it first.
I did bite my mole yesterday, and it started to bleed. Luckily, it only bled for about 15 min's.

Our daughters friend is here staying with us for about a week. We went to Osage State Park this past weekend. We were there with about 40 other people. The beds are nothing to write home about, but at least they were semi-comfortable.. lol. They were all bunk beds.. LOL.
It was a "spiritual retreat" (one could say). Lots of going on's on Saturday.
Friday was check in, grocery shopping, getting everyone checked into a cabin. If anyone else has been to Osage ... then you know that the cabins are down a little ways from the main lodge, and that there is only ONE set of bathrooms for 10 cabins. So you have to walk about a football's length from the cabin to the restrooms. Then the restrooms are made for very small people.. more like Faeries.. lol. Shower curtains for doors. That is a good thing, cause my knee's were sticking out, not to mention my head.. lol.
Friday night's meal was a pot luck. You were to bring enough to feed 6 to 8 people. Most of the people "forgot" about this. So we did with what we had.
Saturday's breakfast.... that was mine and my hubby's job. I sign us up for this every year. We make a great team fixing breakfast. We cooked up some bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, bagels, biscuits and gravy and a full pot of coffee. Lunch was just cold sandwiches. Which was fine by me. Supper was our friends Mikey's spaghetti. He makes a mean pot of spaghetti!!!
It did rain all day, but that just made the day all the better. I volunteered to teach a class on crocheting. I had a few adults, but mostly.. a few kids. Even had a teenage boy wanting to learn. All the kids were from the same family. They were Excellent kids. Never any trouble the whole time. The oldest girl (Tay) caught on the fastest. She ended up making a potholder for her mom, and I made her a beanie with a flower on it. I would really like to send them some yarn and hooks, and hope that they remember how to crochet.
Sunday was clean up day. Cabins had to be spot less and re-checked from the park ranger. Kitchen was spot less finally. Got all the food out of there and sent most of it home with other people.
The whole weekend was great. Saturday evening's ritual was a very special one. It was a tribute to a very special Lady that we lost in January. She was our teacher for drumming.
I know when we got home Sunday afternoon, we ate a little lunch and took a nice nap, got up for supper.. ate a little more.. then slept until monday morning about 9a.m... lots of sleep caught up there... lol. As you can tell... I don't sleep very well when it's not my bed or pillow. So over the weekend, I got about 6hrs worth of sleep. I think I am all caught up now.. lol

DAVA Cookbooks

Well... I am doing the cookbooks for the DAVA (that's.. "Disabled American Veterns Auxiliary"). I suggested that we make one for a fund raiser. We only need about 150 recipes..lol. There are at least 35 members listed, but only the same 5 or 6 show up each month. I did snail mail them all letters about the cookbooks. Have NOT heard from any of them. I know they are old, but I would love to have my favorite recipes in print for my family.
I also have the wonderful job of retyping up the recipes that were hand written.. lol, and or photo copied for the millionth time.. lol.. I love to try and figure out what they said in the first place...LOL. That's ok, cause when I am done typing all of them up.... the ladies at the next meeting can check them for me for spelling of THEIR errors.
It will turn out good. I've done this before, but this time I am going to make sure that I purchase a few of them and give the out as gifts!!!

Where Has The Time Gone?

My Oh My... Here it is April already. Day-Light Savings Time started yesterday. It was soooooooo beautiful here in N.E. Oklahoma. At 7p.m. it was a perfect 72*. So hubby and I sat in the back yard and talked about what additions we would love to build onto our house. You know.. the usual stuff, a pool, extend our room, make our little bathroom into a bigger shower bath room.. lol, then extend the kitchen/dining area. We have plans, but not enough money at this point. It's soooooo nice to have plans =)

Let's see.... 2 weekends ago, I went to Dallas area with 7 other ladies and we did C.O.W. (Celebration Of Womanhood). It was very nice weather there. But the drive was L O N G! It only took us about 6hrs to drive there, and we only got "lost" twice.. lol. Long story short.... the lead car was driving very slowly in traffic and wouldn't pass trucks, soooooo, we did pass them, and come to find out, they had maps and didnt share with us. Oh.. there were 3 vechiles total with 8 ladies total now. The lead car had printed out maps, but failed to give us one. So we were in the dark about everything. That's ok... we went out own way on the way home and beat them home by an hour =)
Of course, while there...my tongue was bleeding from a mole. I've had this mole for years now and never anything from it (aside from the accidental biting it and rubbing against a tooth). I was so myserable. Nasty details I wont go into. Let's just say, I've been to the Dr's and they are referring me to an E.N.T.

This past weekend was the "Free" Medieval Faire in Norman, Okla. It was so very hard to find a motel/hotel near the park there. EVERYTHING was booked up for the Faire. We did manage to find one. It was about 45 min's away. We did go and had some fun. There was a cluster-f*ck of people there, and most of them didn't have any manners. Dust everywhere. It's like the Parks people had to mow before hand. Damn them.. didn't they learn from last year.. lol. It was very warm there as well. I got over-heated a few times and had to sit down for awhile.
This Faire is only on for 3 days. Not sure if we will go again next year. I know we will be going to Muskogee's Medieval Faire in May. We love that one. That one is spread out over several acres and more open so one does not bump into people as much!

Have a Wonderful Day!!

Local Author

OHMYGODDESS... For the past 3 months, only people looking for spells or spamming their web sites have left them.. LOL
It does get real depressing. But am not going to let it stop me. I am busing working on some tea towels for a good friend. She bought the towels and asked if I would make the tops for her. She told me "any color".. so... There were 6 whole towels, but now there are 12 half towels.. LOL, and each one will have a different color topper! Makes life a little more interesting.
My cousin loved that I made her last name in filet and is asking me to make 2 more of them for her son's. I will, once I am finished with the tea towels. Then I will get make to making that $100.00 blanket for my husband and myself. I've never bought yarn that expensive. It is "Jewel Box" and it was on sale at Big Lots! for $1.99 per skein and it is soooooooooooo soft. I found (at 2 Big Lots!) the same colors. So I bought all they had in "Pearl" and "Deep Jasper". Going to make it a ripple blanket.
Up coming months are going to be very busy for us. At the end of March is COW's (Celebration Of Womanhood) in Texas. Can't wait to see everyone again.
Then the first weekend in April is the Renaissance Faire in Norman, Okla, and it's FREE!!

Crocheted Prayer Pot

Jan. 2, 2006
We got news that a very dear friend of ours past on. She is in Summerland now. No more pain. She faught very hard these last 2 months.
It all started when her left leg began giving her troubles. She went to the ER a few times. One of the dr's there told her "lost some weight... oh yeah, and here is a back brace" WHAT NERVE HE HAD.
Well.. after that, she didnt want to go back to the ER (don't blame her), so her leg got really bad, so bad, that it started to turn black. They rushed her to the hospital and told her that they would have to remove the leg. We didn't know how much of her leg that she would lose. She lost her whole leg... all the way up to her hip and part of her buttock's.
She was on morphine drip and everything else to help with the pain. But it just never helped her.
She started to get better after about 6 weeks. She was talking (raspy voice from the tube being in her throat for 5 weeks) a lot better. We even got her to laugh. We told her that we needed her here to teach us how to play our DJEMBE (African Drums). Everything was looking up for her.
She still couldn't keep anything down. Always throwing up what they put in her. We thought it was just from the morphine. Then Monday afternoon, we got that call =(.....

One of my fellow crocheter's was going to make a "Crocheted Prayer Pot". I thought to myself.. "why didn't I think of that... cause you don't know what it is".. lol
Well, this dear friend is so upset that she can't bring herself to make it. So now I am going to make it. I just needed to know what it is. Thank the Goddess that someone over in "Crochetville" knows. http://www.crochetville.org
Tiffany answered my post and gave me another link to find one.
www.marloscrochetcorner.com I wanted to leave some feedback for Marlo, but that part of her website is not working, so I thought I would leave it here for her.

Marlo.. thank you for having this. Your a life saver!!!! (((((Marlo)))))

I'm off now to make a few of these.

Holidays

Well... Christmas is over with and our tree is down.. lol
Now for New Year's!!! We won't be doing anything special, just our "usual" Bringing in the New Year with Dick Clark (If he is still doing it).

Christmas was wonderful. Full of good food and great company/family!!
Everyone that received a sweater for Christmas just loved them (at least that is what they told me...lol). My little nieces loved them more.. Yesterday was the dead-line. I have been in court waiting for them to call my name for jury duty. One just never knows when your name will be called. I am scared for when they do call my name, and they keep it so cold in there, my teeth were chattering from everything..lol

I am now working on my second "Name in Filet". I must admit, this second one is looking much better than the first. I am using a size 8 hook. It does call for a size 6 hook for the size 10 thread. My first one I used a size 0 hook, and it looks loose. This one is much tighter =)

Am finished with a total of 3 sweaters now. Not sure if I will make one for my step mom, aunt and cousin and step sister. They do work up fast...lol. Not sure what to make the teenage boys in the family. 2 of them are into skateboarding, not sure what the 3rd is into. I really need to send them a SASE so they can write me back to let me know for sure.

Can you beleive that there is only 3 more months until X-mas...lol. Time sure is flying by.

My yahoo crochet group is really talkative right now. I just love it. Several of us got to meet last Saturday in Tulsa at the Barnes & Noble book store. I think the next one will be here in Claremore. Would love to have some information about the Crochet Guild for them. I would love to start a group up here.

One Sweater Down, 1 more to go

Well, I finally finished one of the 2 sweater's that I have been working on.
My Wal-Mart got some yarn in that I ran out of. They spend much time in hibernation as one of their favorite things to do is to sleep.'Formed from translucent amethyst, it is an awe inspiring sight to see one in it's true form. Light passes through the dragon's body creating a deep purple glow. It's scales will magnify the light rays into bright lavender beams to highlight this effect.'Amethyst dragons spend most of their time homebound but do occasionally feel the need to take a sojourn to a far destination. These dragons love books and will often pick their destination from one of the many stories and histories they may have read. Amethyst dragons are very solitary in nature, but do keep a distant watch on the world around them. They tend to be highly intelligent, and often amuse themselves in human form by building gadgets and toys. Amethyst dragons are very learned creatures.

'This Dragons favorite elements are: Amethyst, Deep Places, and Magic

BookMarks

I finally received my exchanged BookMarks. LOL
Once I figure out which link to use, will try to post it over in C'ville as well.

Doll Heads

Here are all of the doll heads that I have.
I have 4 - 6" heads... 2 purple & 2 brown hairs

4" heads..... 3 yellow, 3 pink & 7 brown

4 3/4" heads.... 2 browns

3 1/2" heads.... 1 brown & 2 yellows

4 1/2" heads.... 2 black (Tammy)

Trade for Yarn or You pay postage

I have several of these doll heads here in a box. They are talking on working on their relationship. It's a good start. I also got my tea partner's box sent off yesterday (Saturday). The only thing I need to work on now is those finished book marks. I just need to find my iron so I can stiffen them up a bit before mailing those off.

I'm not crocheting anything right now. Thought I would take a break and try my hand at a little 5 x 7 crossstitch. It is of a Wizard. Will get a pic of it once I am finished with it. I think I am about half way done now. I really need to talk to my daughter. She will call here in the afternoon and say that she is hungry. Oh My Goodness, why doesn't she just rip my heart out now. Everyday now, and I have to keep telling her that she made this choice on her own. She does have food there, we've just spoiled her too much. What they do have, they have to make it last until payday (which is every friday). Who hasn't been already?? We've all survived it. I've lived on popcorn, rice and beans (not all together thou.. lol). It is getting to where I dread answering the phone. Yes, we have caller ID, but I love hearing her voice.
Husband says that he can pawn one of his guns for low amount and we can help her that way. I tell him "no honey, this is something she has to figure out, and I will just have tell her to please not mention that she is hungry" as the tears stream down my face.

Boy, this blog is suppose to be about my crocheting, but it has become my journal. Onto Crocheting... I am just about done with my purple 6in squares for the 2 groups. Envelopes are ready too.. just need to wait for some $$$ to mail them off. A couple of the gals live in Canada, one is in New Zealand.
I still need to get some more items for my "Tea Swap" partner. I got a package from her last week. There was 2 envlopes of hot chocolate w/mini marshmellows, 2 little tins with different tea in them from "Adagio" Tea, and a box of caffeine free tea that my husband will enjoy.. lol

I know it's for her own good.....

I really hate saying that, but she has called here twice today (not that I am complaining about in any way) complaining that she is bored and hungry. All she can eat there is a bowl of plain cereal. I tell her that that is enough for now, and water will wash it down. They just need to better plan some simple cheap lunches for her. They have food for the evening meal (which is more than some people eat). I do feel for her, I can remember skipping meals just so that she and hubby would have enough to eat. I so want to help her too, but at the same time, she needs to learn this lesson, after all, she is the one that choose this way. I always cry after we hang up. I need to be strong on this too. Thank goodness I have my husband and good friends to talk too. I really need them right now.
Who said being a parent is easy? I only get to hear from my daughter when I call her, and then it sounds like I am bothering her. So the calls are short. My husband politely pointed out that that is how my mother use to feel when she would call me. Talk about a hit over the head.
I don't cry much about it now. Only when I sit and really think about her. But then I tell myself.. she is just about 25 miles away.. not like she is gone for-ever. Then I start to feel better about everything.
My crocheting... not that I have been neglecting it.. I am working on some purple squares still for 2 groups. I am about 1/3 of the way done. Then I will need to start on a baby blanket for a friends neice who is still due in Sept. I have all my bookmarks done, just need to press them. I also have my tea, just need to get a little box or envelope for it and send them off. Would like to put a little something in with the tea, but am just not sure what yet. Will think of something real soon. Am better under a little pressure.. LOL.

Still No Word

Damn.. it's only Saturday. It feels like almost a week has past to me. I can't believe it was just 2 days ago that we went and saw our daughter. It seems like a week ago. We did try and call her yesterday (several times in fact), come to find out, her boyfriend had the cell phone. He had to make some phone calls. That did not go over very well with hubby.
We were trying to see if she needed anything for the apt. Like dishes, silverware, etc. "HE" said that he could use some bowls. Like we are going to get them anything now.. lol I know that sounds means, but he is the one that talked our daughter into moving in with him. He is the same person that told me a few weeks ago (while in our house) that "if she can't get a job and carry her own weight in the apt... Out she goes (at the same time, he is using his middle finger to motion that she is "out"). To me, that says that he is only using her. Guess she has to find this out on her own.
Have a Great Weekend.

Thursday June 2, 2005

My husband took me yesterday to where our daughter is living. This is the first time I've seen or heard from her since Sunday afternoon. So she didn't know that we were coming over. When she opened up that door, I saw all kinds of emotions running thru her face. Anger, scared little girl, pissed off, trying to be an adult, crying, suprized, shocked.. you get it..lol. She finally composed herself and let us in and started crying, which in turn started me to cry with her. She apologized for her actions and what she said on Sunday, but she is not ready to move back home just yet.
I'm proud of myself. I didnt ask her to come back home yet either. I really wanted too, but I knew that she has to learn this on her own. She did ask that "if" something did happen, could she have her room back. I kinda joked around and said "yes, it's your room, but only for the next year *insert crying/laughing here* (lol).
I do feel much better now that I've been able to see, feel and talk to her. We also gave her back her cell phone. Now, I know a few of you are saying that we gave in to her. But she never asked for it back once she gave it up. Besides, we still have to pay for it. The contract is up at the end of this year. So why not let her have it. We get the bill and the list of numbers that she/they made.. lol. We only asked that she call us once in while, and that they don't abuse this "luxury". :)

Monday May 30, 2005

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

I'm sad today. Yesterday our daughter moved out of the house :(( I know her boyfriend is behind it all. He keeps pushing her to get a job. We want her to have a job as well, but before she moved in with him. She is 19. I didnt want everyone to be upset when she left. I wanted all of us to be happy. Like we use to be.
She met this guy on line, locally. He likes tattoo's and piercing's, and he has them as well, and now our daughter has more piercing's. I dont mind the tattoo's at all (cause I have 2 of them myself). I've been with my daughter when she got her tattoo's done. I use to think that we were close. But since Jan. this year, we haven't. I can't blame it all on him (as much as I would love too). I know she is growing up and becoming an adult. We treated her like one most of the time. I did notice that here lately, when her dad and her played around, she would get pissed off at him and yell at him, then hold back the tears. Of course, she would say that she is ok. But a mom knows better. I could never get her to talk to me about it.
I know there were times that I was ready for her to move out. But I was also ready to have her stay at home for the rest of our lives. She was a very big part of our lives. Yes, she was my only child, hubby's 2nd child.
I did ask for the house key and her cell phone back (she is on our plan and we pay for the phone). Now I am thinking about giving it back to her (cell phone). But I just talking to my husband about how much times have changed since I've gotten married (25yrs come this Oct), we didnt have cell phones. My mom didnt worry much about me. If we didnt have a phone, we visited each other. Then when my mom moved out of state, we wrote each other 2 letters per week at first, then it was down to 2 a month.. lol. We really missed each other then.
I can only hope that my daughter will come around soon. I will be here for her no matter what.

Monday May 23, 2005

Well, I've tryed my hand at thread text.. lol... those bookmarks will end up being about 3in wide and about 10in long.
